Located in the compound of Masjid Jamek Batu Uban in Gelugor, Penang, a well built by the mosque’s founder Haji Mohammed Salleh in 1734 is said to be the oldest well in the state.
Many people believed that water from the well had healing powers that could treat minor illnesses during that time.
