Contrary to the speculation that Andhra Pradesh government will conduct this year’s Independence Day celebrations on August 15 at Visakhapatnam, it has now been decided that the celebrations will be held at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada with limited gathering strictly following the Covid-19 guidelines.

విజయవాడ: రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం అందరి అంచనాలను మరోసారి తలకిందులు చేసింది. స్వాతంత్య్ర దినోత్సవ వేడుకలు ఈ సారి పరిపాలనా రాజధానిగా రూపుదిద్దుకోనున్న విశాఖపట్నంలో నిర్వహిస్తారంటూ వచ్చిన వార్తలకు తెర దించింది. ఈ సారి కూడా విజయవాడలోనే నిర్వహించడానికి ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తోంది. ఇందిరాగాంధీ మున్సిపల్ స్టేడియంలో ఏర్పాట్లను పూర్తి చేస్తోంది. రాష్ట్ర పోలీస్ డైరెక్టర్ జనరల్ గౌతమ్ సవాంగ్ గురువారం ఏర్పాట్లను పర్యవేక్షించారు. రిహార్సల్స్‌ను నిర్వహించారు.
