Heavily rainfall and thunderstorms bring flooding and landslips across Scotland.
Footage recorded in Stonehaven, just five miles from the major incident where a passenger train derailed, on Wednesday (August 12) shows overflowing water and damage to the River Carron’s flood defences.
The filmer, @maihrtin, told Newsflare: "The video vantage point is normally a road which runs parallel to the River Cowie in Mineral Well Park. Rain running off from the higher ground of the park created a fast-flowing flash flood flowing into the river at a 45-degree angle."
Three people have died, and six others have been taken to hospital after a train derailed in Aberdeenshire, near Stonehaven at about 09:40 on Wednesday morning.
