美 하루 신규 환자 6만 명 ‘최다’…‘병상 부족’ 비상
The U.S. now stands at over 3-million 35-thousand COVID-19 cases after breaking record of 60 thousand daily coronavirus cases this week since the first outbreak of the pandemic.
Due to sudden jumps in numbers, states are facing an impending shortage of intensive care unit hospital beds.
Health authorities reported 56 intensive care units in Florida, one of the hot spots in the U.S. that have already hit capacity and only less than 20 percent of the total adult ICU beds were available on Tuesday.
In Texas, which recently surpassed its first 10-thousand daily cases, the number of hospitalized patients more than doubled in just two weeks.
The number of confirmed patients are expected to rise as health authorities plan to conduct 5-thousand tests a day by making new testing facilities in regions seeing re-surgences.
