Chinese state media has defended a party which saw thousands of people pack out a water park in Wuhan. Pictures showed Wuhan Maya Beach Water Park being jam-packed by mask-free revellers as they stood shoulder to shoulder in water on Saturday. Global Times, an English-language newspaper backed by the Chinese Communist Party, hit back at critics who saw the party as a slap in the face to the rest of the world.
