Sōta’s friend Nami is upset because everyone keeps telling her that her Pokémon, a Hinbass (said to be the shabbiest Pokémon in the world) isn’t cute. However, Nami and Hinbass aim to win the Water-Type Pokémon Friendship Contest. With Koharu, Sota, Satoshi and Go’s encouragement, they begin training for the contest, but it may not be so easy, especially since Nami needs to learn how to swim first and Rocket-Dan, hearing of the contest, decides to crash it to steal all the competing Pokémon.
