South Korea reported 2-hundred-79 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday.
Of those, 2-hundred-67 are local transmissions, with a surge of cases in the greater Seoul area.
Effective Sunday, the government has raised the the level of social distancing from level 1 to 2.
That means a ban on gatherings of more than fifty people indoors and more than a hundred people outdoors,… and there’ll be no spectators at professional sporting events.
Stricter quarantine measures will be enforced at facilities regarded as high-risk, which include clubs, singing rooms, buffets and computer cafes.
Masks will also be required at wedding venues, theaters and religious facilities,… while daycare centers are advised to close.
