A unique rock formation in Montana’s Whitehall creates a bizarre ringing noise when struck with a hammer.
Filmer Nickolas Warner talks through his amusement after banging several of the rocks to create a chiming sound.
Warner said: "These ringing rocks in southwest Montana are a truly bizarre, geological oddity.
"Sitting about twenty minutes off highway 90, this massive pile of rusty coloured boulders don’t seem too out of place, that is until you hit them with a hammer and they let out a loud ringing sound.
"Each rock produces a different tone, and one could easily spend hours drumming away one the rocks.
"Mysteriously, when one rock is taken away from the rest, it loses its ringing abilities."
This footage was filmed on July 22.
