Two enormous explosions devastated the port area of Beirut on August 4, 2020, killing more than 70 people and injuring as many as 3,700 others. The twin blasts shook distant buildings and spread panic and chaos across the Lebanese capital. The second of the two explosions sent an enormous orange fireball into the sky, flattening the harbour area and driving a shock wave through the city, shattering windows kilometres away.
