Wheelchair users travel more than 100 miles home during new Covid-19 lockdown in the Philippines

Five disabled wheelchair users had to travel more than 100 miles home due transport being closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The five men were seen using umbrellas to keep out the sun while rolling along a road in Tarlac, the Philippines on August 1.
Passerby Ike Nicdao said he felt sad when he passed the group so he asked them where they were going.
Ike said that they told him the were from the province of Pangasinan and wanted to return home to their homes in Cainta - a journey of more than 100 miles. Tarlac, the place where they were seen, is around the half way point.
Due to a renewed coronavirus lockdown all public transportation is temporarily prohibited, so they were forced to use their wheelchairs as transportation.
Nicdao said: "They looked so tired and hungry. I also had nothing to give them when I saw them. So I recorded them so other people could see the struggle they are going through.’’
